My Plans For Autumn - Out & About and Staying In

Montpelier station, railway bridge in autumn

Hey guys it's another blog post about autumn!! Really though, I was planning to jot down what I'm looking forward to doing with all this non-wedding planning free time I suddenly have anyway and seen as the Google Doodle informed me yesterday was the first day of autumn it seemed as good a time to share as any!

Out & About

Westonbirt Arboretum
Although it's starting to feel the part, it's not looking very autumnal yet is it? The leaves are only just starting to turn but hopefully in a month or so it'll be prime time to visit the Westonbirt Arboretum.  Less than an hour's drive north of Bristol the Arboretum is somewhere I've never got around to visiting but going to see the beautiful trees there is high on my Autumn 2015 bucket list.

The Ethicurean's Day of the Dead Feast
I've missed this event in the past few years but I'm determined to make it this year! Combining my favourite place with my favourite time of year sounds almost too perfect - they haven't released details of this year's feast yet but I'm stalking their events page in anticipation. And if it turns out they're not running a Day of the Dead night this year then a trip to have a seasonal supper would do just fine!

Wahaca Day Of The Dead Festival, 7th November, Tobacco Dock London
Amazing Mexican street food, perfect excuse for some beautiful face paint action, brilliant bands like Crystal Fighters... I'm buying tickets asap!

Bristol Zombie Walk, 31st October
I've joined in with this a couple times before and it's always good fun! Whether you zombie-up and join in, or just show up to watch the madness, its well worth getting yourself to Bristol city center on October 31st.

Death: The Human Experience at  Bristol Museum, 24 October—13 March 2016
Keeping with the theme this exhibition on at Bristol's museum sounds morbidly marvelous!

At Home

At home I want to cook and eat ALL the pumpkin, re-instate the slow cooker to cook up some hearty stews and have an epic clean and sort of our flat - I'm feeling an intense need to tidy and purge at home! Our spare room has especially bore the brunt of the madness and messiness of wedding planning and now resembles a post apocalyptic mash-up of a craft-shop-come-off-license stockroom. It would be nice to have the place ship shape & Bristol fashion ready for winter cosy time! To help use up all that lovely left over wine we plan on throwing a cheese and wine party very soon. Guests bring the cheese - we provide the wine!

I realise this post generally reads as "how I'll be celebrating Halloween all autumn..." well, if the shoe fits and all that! ;)

What's on your agenda for the coming season?
